E is for Edward Quilt, Edward Gorey Quilt, Goreyosity Shop Exhibit Fundraiser for Edward Gorey House, Collectors Art Quilt of Curiosity

$925.00

Edward Gorey Fans and Collectors! In September 2018, 30 artists were invited to rummage through the collected treasures and brick-a-brac of Edward Gorey, found in his barn at the Edward Gorey House in Yarmouth Port, MA on Cape Cod. I created the E is for Edward Quilt from articles found among the immense hoard of curiosities he had collected throughout his lifetime. The highlight, an Oxford Button down Shirt! Of Edward Gorey's!!

The artworks created were exhibited and auctioned at the Goreyosity Shop Exhibit. There were quite a few pieces that did not reach their minimum bids, including the E is for Edward Quilt! The plan all along was to meet expected goals to raise funds to support the Edward Gorey House. Any works that did not sell at their reserve bids are now offered to a more global audience. The initial auction found local homes for artworks, but there are still pieces made with precious artifacts that were once loved, used, and collected by Edward Gorey. My one of a kind Quilt is being offered at the minimum reserved price. 60% of the proceeds will be going directly to the Edward Gorey House! You can check out the process of making this quilt on my Instagram @btaylorquilts and search the tag #EisforedwardQuilt !!
