Whoa! This Vintage Rescue Quilt is either a Broken Saw or Baby Bunting Variation pattern hailing from around 1922. I'm also suspicious that it could be a nod to the New York Beauty (which is my greatest love!). Red and White and WOW!! Another unusual quilt top that I've never seen before and this one does not disappoint. The quilt has over 2100 pieces and is so well preserved, all cotton construction. Made from a Vintage quilt top that I rescued from obscurity... although I have to say, someone really cared for it and kept it protected over the years.
There are 12 blocks measuring roughly 18 inches square each. The blocks are comprised of 16 smaller blocks that each have 11 pieces. The Quilt measures 55.75 x 76 inches.
It is a stunning, vibrant quilt with lots of crinkle from a wash and hang dry. It's so lovely and can be used in so many different ways. Use it as a wall hanging for an amazing statement! It is backed using a wonderful fabric by Anna Fishkin called Modern Stitching. It was produced by Red Rooster Fabrics and can no longer be found anywhere! I've had a bolt of it in my stash for years just waiting for the right quilt to come along.

STORY OF VINTAGE RESCUE QUILTS
Following my love of Vintage Quilts and Quilt History, I find and source unfinished vintage quilt tops from various places. I then make any repairs needed to the quilt top, including mending loose seams, replacing disintegrated fabrics, and attending to stains that may be treated. I then pair the quilt with a modern fabric backing and batting and quilt it using my longarm quilting machine. I use no computers on my longarm and everything is done manually by hand. In the end, these unfinished quilts from long ago are transformed into quilts that are totally amazing, stunning, and, well, beautiful! Sometimes I'm so struck by a quilt's transformation! It is an honor to bring these beauties into the future and finally give them the ability to be used and loved!
QUILT CARE
