Indigo and Bleach Dyed Vintage Dresden Plate Quilt

$550.00

My love affair continues with vintage Dresden Plate quilt blocks! This Vintage Quilt top came to me unfinished, and in need of some TLC. It is from my collection and I've indigo and bleach dyed the top in various ways to accent the beauty of each block. It's just so pretty! The colors in the vintage fabrics just absolutely popped when bleached! I've done a meandering edge to edge quilting and kept it a little looser than my normal heavy quilting... making the quilt much softer to touch. It's going to make a great snuggle quilt.

You can see it here in the photos laying over a queen size platform bed, which it covers pretty well. It looks great folded up on the end of the bed too! I've paired it with a pretty batik fabric for the backing (see in the last photos), which has an ombre effect of its own. It is safe to machine wash and dry (with care, following instructions... basically in cold water with no harsh detergents or bleach). I've already washed and air dried this quilt.
Measures 65 x 82.5 inches. This quilt is sold As Is Vintage.

STORY OF VINTAGE RESCUE QUILTS
Following my love of Vintage Quilts and Quilt History, I find and source unfinished vintage quilt tops from various sources. I then make any repairs needed to the quilt top, including mending loose seams, replacing disintegrated fabrics, and attending to stains that may be treated. I then pair the quilt with a modern fabric backing and batting and quilt it using my longarm quilting machine. I use no computers on my longarm and everything is done manually. In the end, these unfinished quilts from long ago are transformed into quilts that are totally amazing, stunning, and well, beautiful! Sometimes I'm so struck by a quilt's transformation! It is an honor to bring these beauties into the future and finally give them the ability to be used and loved!

QUILT CARE

❀ ❀ wash cold, gentle cycle, mild soap and dry in a normal drier on low to medium or lay flat or hang to dry. Do not hang in direct sunlight to dry.
Don't wash it a lot. Washing dulls fabrics, so if you can just shake it out, spot clean, use a tape roller for that cat fur, toss it in the drier on cold to fluff it up.
