Vintage Four X Star Quilt in Red and White. Vintage Rescue Quilt will make a unique addition to your home or a beautiful gift for a friend. Ready to ship.
Vintage Four X Star Quilt in a stunning red and white pattern! A piece of American history and heritage. This one is a true antique beauty and would fit twin or full size bed. It is shown laid out on a queen size bed in the fourth photo.
This quilt has at least 2,744 individual pieces and it was all hand sewn! I found the quilt top at an antique store in Sturbridge, MA this last spring and it simply stood out from anything I’ve seen in person lately. The fabrics used are obviously from the early 1900’s, possibly into the 30’s, but everything was in amazing condition with no disintegration and hardly any loose seams. It had been all hand pieced, and given the pattern, the maker was very exacting in cutting out her pieces. It laid completely flat and was perfectly constructed.
The finished quilt is just stunning, a real vintage American beauty with lots of character and charm. It’s also really big, as far as vintage quilts go, at 68 x 80 inches it covers the top of a queen size mattress. You will not be disappointed!
** Quilting design from the book Step-by-Step Free-Motion Quilting by Christina Cameli from C&T Publishing, Inc.. Thank you!
